Terron Darby: Bio

Terron Darby - Dj/Producer/Remixer

As a DJ, Terron Darby has over 15 years of experience in the world of dance and club culture. Starting in the early 90s, he started getting inspiration and learning the ropes in Florida, frequenting clubs like Simons (Gainesville), Ahzs (Orlando), and Warsaw (Miami). He then enthusiastically started his DJ sets spinning at after hour parties at Late Night Library, CPA -Club Park Ave- and Echo, gaining well-deserved respect from the crowds.

Terron’s DJ skills have lit up the dance floors from South Beach to Mexico City. In 1999 he joined a DJ collective called DHM (Deep House Movement) that introduced deep house to the forefront of the Miami local scene. Their ‘Phylos Sessions’ parties inspired many house heads and DJS for several years. He’s also held solo residencies at Blue, Tantra, Level (now Mansion), Deluxe, Ivy and W6 Lounge in Miami. Terron has played at nearly every hotspot in South Beach from Cameo to the Delano Hotel.

In light of his extensive knowledge of the underground sound and textures his passion for the electronic recording arts didn’t stop at Djing. After attaining a Recording Arts Degree, he began engineering for independent studios in Miami with great recognition. Terron also started designing professional studios and became a true expert in the field: he has in fact integrated Digital studio Recording systems and assisted clients such as Ozzy Osbourne, Lou Reed, Barry Gibb of Bee Gees, Robbie Williams, Ricky Martin, and Lenny Kravitz to name a few.

Terron has worked as an instructor at Full Sail –School For The Recording Arts in the ‘MIDI’, ‘Advanced Workstations’, and ‘Post Production’ departments. At the same time he has also been the head engineer for SFP Records which houses four other independent sub labels.

As a producer and remixer he worked on Cosmo-Star “Sunset Lovin” 12’’ released on Sofitone Records, Fourfeet “It’s Official” 12”(Chillin Records), Speaker People “State of Mind” 12” CD “featured on 'The Lunar Sessions' compilation CD mixed by Roland appearing on
Harliquin Records courtesy of Sound Ritual Records), Lazybatusu “Keepin On” –Terron Darby Remix’ to be released on Emunity Records.

As a mix and recording engineer some of his credits include London-based artist Natalie Williams “This Girl” -Lazybatusu Remix- out on Eastside Records and Black Opium featuring Fabio Morgera on trumpet (of Grammy-nominated band Groove Collective).

He is currently freelancing, engineering and teaching Pro Tools Certification Classes along side Roger Nichols and Charles Dye in New York, Miami, Philadelphia, Boston and Toronto for ProMedia (www.protoolstraining.com) while pursuing his passion: to DJ and produce organically induced songs that have the purpose to take you on a journey.
